AP&T plays key role as Volvo Cars invests for the future
Volvo Cars is drafting plans for its next car model, and press hardening technology will play a central role. AP&T has been entrusted to supply a turnkey press hardening plant for car body parts to Volvo's factory in Olofström, which located in southeast Sweden.

New SpeedFeeders for up to 529 lbs
AP&T has produced a SpeedFeeder to accommodate weights up to 529 lbs, and it was specially developed for press hardening lines. SpeedFeeder 240 feeds parts between the furnace and the press, and it is particularly suitable for applications with heavy grippers.

After a decade of relatively unchanged demand, the automotive industry's interest in hydroforming is rapidly growing. The method offers a great deal of freedom in terms of manufacturing complex parts with exact surface forms and small tolerances such as exhaust systems.

AP&T has received a new order from Bang & Olufsen in Denmark. One press and over 50 tools were delivered in 2011, and an additional press is on the way.
