Hot stamping drew a crowd in Shanghai

Some of the foremost experts in the field and an audience of about 150 individuals hungry for knowledge met at AP&T's hot stamping seminar in Shanghai on March 24. Over the course of the day, audience members got to follow the hot stamping process from blank to finished product as well as in industrial application.

Dr. Ralf Kolleck from the Frank Stronach Institute at the Graz University of Technology kicked the event off by providing a general picture of the opportunities that hot stamping opens up for the metal forming industry. Over the course of the day, experts from Arcelor Mittal, ESI Group and AP&T provided more detailed information on material, simulation possibilities and production solutions.

Finally, Fernando Mencaroni from Fiat Group Automobiles presented how the company works with hot stamping in its vehicle production process.

“Hot stamping has now made a large-scale breakthrough in the industry, and we are happy to have the opportunity to spread know-how on the method within the industry,” says AP&T Global Sales and Service Manager Per Josefsson.

The seminar in Shanghai is part of AP&T's successful Hot Stamping Seminar Tour, which thus far has attracted several hundred visitors around the world. The next stop for the tour is Tokyo on June 4. This will be followed by Detroit on September 14.
