Stainless products for restaurants, households and industry

A quality-conscious Swiss with a soft spot for Sweden

Quality is everything for Noser-Inox. The Swiss manufacturer of stainless products for restaurants, households and industry has invested in a new hydraulic press from AP&T.

Swiss made. The concept stands for top-quality products everywhere. This also applies to products from Noser-Inox. The company is one of Switzerland's most well-reputed manufacturers of deep drawn stainless products. The company manufactures pots and pans for professionals and households, as well as advanced components for the automotive industry, aircraft manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies and several other industries. Customers are located all over the world - primarily in Europe and the U.S., but China as well.

"Unique competence and top quality are our main means of competing and facing the challenge posed by low cost countries," says Fridolin Noser, CEO and owner of Noser-Inox.

New press gives rise to new opportunities
A company that that is dependent on supplying quality also naturally demands it, so when Noser-Inox decided to invest in a new press, AP&T was chosen as the supplier after a scrupulous selection process.

"The beginning of the 1980s was last time we did business with AP&T. The press we bought then is still working without a hitch, but the technology has naturally developed since then. The ODEN press we are investing in now offers entirely new opportunities," says Fridolin Noser.

Highly effective advanced forming
ODEN-WP is a flexible hydraulic press with 315 tons of press force. The new press' extended stroke length of 1600 mm enables pans and other objects to be manufactured with a depth of up to 500 mm. The modern control system also improves opportunities to produce more complicated parts. Force and speed can vary without interruption, which means more steps can be performed in the same movement. Repetition and precision accuracy are also improved. The new press has been built for quick re-set for different tasks, with a short amount of time for changing tools.

"Flexibility is important since a great deal of our production consists of short series. We can also now perform truly advanced forming tasks more effectively than was previously the case. It is also nice doing business with AP&T again," says Fridolin Noser, who has a soft spot for Sweden.

There is a reason for this. At the beginning of the 1970s, Fridolin Noser's father, who was running Noser-Inox at the time, bought his first press from Lagan Press, which later became part of AP&T. In conjunction with ordering the press, he sent along a young trainee who wanted to learn more about how the press was designed and how it worked. The young man was Fridolin Noser. He stayed in Sweden for two years and initiated two long-term relationships. One was with his future bride. The other one was with AP&T.

The ODEN press we are investing in offers entirely new opportunities, says Noser-Inox's CEO and owner Fridolin Noser. Here with Mikael Bramstedt from AP&T. Noser-Inox's new ODEN press was delivered on October 16, 2010. A crane with 350 tons counterbalance was needed for the job.
